Knowing the content is not the measure of a teacher; conveying knowledge is. He has one good point and three bad.
GOOD: casual and wants to help
BAD: 1) Roughly 50% of what he says is either distraction or over-complication. 2) He'll spend too much time exploiting his authority to project his backward politics. 3) Does not break down information well.
The only people I know who like him as a professor are non-historians from ROTC. They are meat-heads who share copies of Thacker's old tests (they haven't changed in two decades) and make it a point to talk positively about the military for a better grade. Thacker is Fox News.
