Additional Comments
First off let me just say that Dr. Thacker doesn't believe in computers. He told our class on the first day that he doesn't use them and won't use them so it was very difficult to get in touch with him. He is a very knowledgeable man, but I feel like he almost knows too much. He teaches everything from memory and basically rambles about everything. He will start talking about one subject and end up switching over to the current state of politics. He expects us to write down every single that he says and he will want to know the most random things for the tests... The exams are all essay based. You will get a study guide with a long list of people and events that you have to know, but only ten of those will actually be on the test. For being a gen. ed., this class is very time consuming and you have to put in A LOT of work to get a good grade. I would suggest that you take another teacher unless you feel like challenging yourself. Oh, and one more thing... He is very conservative and right-winged. And he will let you know on multiple occasions what he thinks about how the country is right now.
