Additional Comments
I am not a history person at all, but this class was so good. Dr. Reed made the material interesting and broke up the classes enough with things other than lecture that I rather enjoyed going. The class consists of three exams, all weighted the same amount, and two papers. Dr. Reed loves answering students' questions and he may pad your grade a bit if you go to see him about a paper or test beforehand for some extra help. He especially likes when students speak up in class. The exams ask you to answer one long and one short essay each and the long essay topics are often pretty clear and presented in a lecture. The short essays ask you to analyze a document and why it is important to historians. As long as you can BS, you'll be fine. Overall, Dr. Reed was easy to talk to and entertaining throughout the course. He's the best history professor I've ever had in school.
