Hardin doesn't follow the book, so the book isn't even helpful. He doesn't cover a lot of information, rather he harps on certain information that he enjoys talking about. The entire class is pure lecture, and he is very hard to follow throughout the lectures. If you do poorly on the tests, then you do poorly in the class. I would never recommend anyone to take this class unless they are VERY interested in history and would be willing to put up with a monotone professor with off the wall lectures.
