By all means take this class! Professor Gao is one of the nicest teachers you will ever have. As a non-traditional student this was the first foreign language class I have ever had. Professor Gao really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Sit in the front of the class and don't be afraid to ask questions. Once you master the main words that are used in everyday life you will have no trouble with quizes and tests.

Very good teacher. Sweetest women I've ever had the chance of being taught from. Gives lots of quizes and 2 tests (mid-term and final). Little hard to understand sometimes, but not the worst I've ever had.

Mrs. Gao Is A Wonderful Teacher, She Really Is. She Will Help You With Anything And If You Sit In Front And Try And Participate, You Will More Than Likely Get An A. I Know I Didn't Do Well On My Final, And I Messed Up A Couple Of Quizzes But I Still Got An A. It's An Easy Class, I Know Some Athletes, Who Don't Have Time For A Lot Of Studying And Alll Due To Practice, That Made Good Grades In That Class.

There is much I could say about Ms. Gao, but in the end she is a good teacher. I tried to take her in the Spring of 2003. I tried hard to get in the class, and when I did, I quickly dropped because her English level scared me and I had another language class. I determined to try again. Her English is fair; just get her to clarify if you don't understand her. This class is done at a slow pace. She works hard to make sure you understand. Homework is minimal. I put in a lot of effort because I hope to go to China some day, and she really liked me and helped me out. She even let me borrow her Yanni CD. Very rewarding class; you can impress your friends and Chinese buffet servers!
Xiexie (Thank you)

Ms. Gao is a good teacher. She explains material simply and helps with any questions you might have. If you listen to her and take her notes, you will have no trouble in this class. There are 2 tests, 1 midterm, 1 final, and like 2 homework assignments with like 3 quizzes. She is very helpful but she does take attendance daily. I recommend her!!

Mrs. Gao is the cutest little teacher - and very easy!! Chinese is a hard language to learn but she makes it very simple. You do need to do some studying and preparation but overall the class is easy. I def. recomend her!
