I loved this class! Mrs. Serros is an awesome teacher! She will do whatever she can to help students understand how to do something. There is quite a bit of homework, but it isn't very hard to do. Mrs. Serros is the best math teacher I have ever had. I would recommend this teacher to anyone.

Dr. Serros is a huge asset to WKU. She is concerned about her students and wants them to truly understand the material. There are a lot of disconcerting remarks on this site about her, but I assure you that if you work hard in her class, even if you're not strong in math like me, you will succeed. I loved her teaching style and the stratgies that she used to teach us how to teach.

Dr. Serros is a good teacher but the class is really hard. There is a writing folder that is turned in every so often. Stay on top of the writing folder or you will regret it. Study for the tests and do the homework.

Prof. Serros is a pretty good teacher! She is willing to help you out with all the homework, tests questions, computer assignments, etc and you are given chances to earn points back from previous tests. Serros does assign a homework folder that you are selected at random to turn in. As long as you go to class and turn in the work, not much effort will have to be put toward the work or tests. Plus, she brings candy to class!

Ms. Serros knows what she is talking about and is good at explaining difficult math equations, but there is so much information to be covered, most of the class was starting to feel overwhelmed by the midterm. Many times we got into groups and worked on projects, which helped to have several people's input. The homework is very important because she grades it randomly (she randomly selects 4 or 5 students every Friday to check their homework and short essays). It is also important because it helps the info to make sense. If you like to put off doing homework assignments or reading the book, this is probably not a good class for you because you'll most likely get behind. Overall I enjoyed Ms. Serros' teaching style.

Even though this was a tough course Mrs. Serros helped me out alot. I spent a lot of time in her office getting help on the things that I didn't understand and without her help I don't think I would have made it. It's also pretty awesome that she gives students a chance to make up their tests grades through out the semester. It's not an easy class, you definately have to work hard.

This class would have been so much better if she was a little more reasonable. I thought it was good to work in groups, but if you are not perfect in math and very very fast on tests, then you don't stand a chance! She never gave enough time to finish long exams and didn't seem to care at all when the whole class didn't get finished. It's pretty bad when the class average for every exam is an F!

She has you work in groups for most of her grades, even guizzes. Homework counts too!! Do your homework and study for the test and you will be fine.

Ms. Serros is by far one of the worst math teachers I have ever had since I have been at Western. I was told to take her for math and I regret ever signing up for her course. She was incredibly rude to me as well as other members of the class during her teaching of the material in the classroom. Whenever I would ask her to solve a problem for me, she would look at me as if it were a horrible inconvenience to her and looked at me with a very demeaning look as if I were too stupid to grasp the material on my own. I have had a very hard time with math in the past and it's not fair to re-visit the same feelings I felt in years past when I was unable to grasp seemingly simple concepts on my own.
Though she had office hours, she never could figure out why anyone would never come to them. I feel that it's because she never made anyone feel comfortable enough to come to her for help. I felt stupid in the class and felt like she never cared about whether I did well in her class or not. I feel very sorry for any elementary or middle school students that she has taught in the past. As a college student, I don't feel comfortable telling her anything and I wonder how a child must have felt in her class. If you absolutely have to take Ms. Serros, I would advise you to either wait another semester till a better teacher comes along or find a tutor to help you. The tutoring sessions did help me. So good luck with the class and try to avoid taking Serros if at all possible.

Mrs. Serros is incredibly passionate towards math. This unfortunately does not mean she is an amazing teacher. She does a wonderful job at giving examples and reasons for math problems, but she is AWFUL when it comes to answering questions and being compassionate towards students. If you need someone who is willing to put in that extra effort for student help, she is not the teacher for you. If you want a teacher who is straight-forward, well she's just that.
