Be prepared for work, but if you stay on top and don't get behind you will do fine. She is a very good teacher, but could use spell check on her powerpoints. She does allow you to rework your maps if you don't like the grade you get. Overall, a lot of work, but very rewarding.

Kambesis is an awesome teacher! She assigns you a lot of cpu assignments to do in class and doesn't care when you get them done, as long as you turn them in. Her tests are exactly like her study guides, which consists of multiple choice, short answer, essay, fill in the blank, and being able to do an cpu assignment. The final consist of you having to do a series of maps and put them on your website. She gives you a good two weeks to get it done, and the maps were a bit challenging, but nothing that you haven't learned in class already during the semester. Overall, a good teacher who I would recommend to anyone.

Pat is a great teacher, but the class itself is tiem consuming. You have 12 exercises and 4 quizes/tests, but if you turn them all in on time she will drop ur lowest score. There are also 2 projects and a big final project making all the maps you talked about in the class. You don't take any notes because you can save her powerpoint lectures in your folder. I bought the book, and only used it once for a project. All the test questions come from her lectures. She also allows you to turn assignments in late, but if you don't complete them by the end of the semester each outstanding assignment will drop your grade one letter.

While this class is difficult at times, Pat is an awesome teacher and is very enthusiastic about her classes. Also, she is really down to earth and wants us to do each assignment and therefore lets us turn it in late. But our grade keeps depreciating (even into negatives) when it's late. Do the assignments and make sure to get the labs done early. Download the lectures and print them to study for the tests (she says quiz, NOT quiz... TEST). Dobler is going to be teaching this in Spring 2005. He is a great guy. You can take either, but Pat has the experience.
