Ms. Walblay is a great teacher. She's super smart and really knows her stuff. She is very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, no matter who teaches the textiles class, it's still kind of tough and boring. There's no good way for this class to be taught. It takes a lot of memorization and its very beneficial for you to understand and apply the terms. The lab is the hardest.

This class is based on learning how to create visual displays. The bulk of the class focuses on going to actual stores around town and working with a group to create displays; the majority of your grade will be pulled from these displays. For a good grade be sure to spend at least 45min. to 1 hour on your weekly display. In class Walblay will post pics of the display for the class to critique; she will also visit the store to see your group display. Be sure that you can SPECIFICALLY state what you contributed to the display and why you think it works. The exams are easy as long as you study class notes; she talks quickly so try to get everything down. I didn't have a class text and I got an A in the class.

She gave a lot of fun assignments and they were not hard to complete. The price for supplies is a little steep.

Mrs. Walblay is sweet! This class is really just about the technical stuff dealing with design. It does not discuss clothes or anything like that. It talks about the Design Process, texture, color, line, and Ect... There are 3 main projects and your final exam is a project. So if your really good with hands on type of grades rather than boring old worksheets this will be a fun class for you!

First of all I just want to say that this class is the stupidest and easiest course I have ever taken. It is ridiculous that it is offered at a university. There are two sections (001 and 002). I was in 002 so my teacher was Mrs. Walblay (she is awesome!), the other teacher was Ms. Felnier, and she was just out of her mind. The whole class basically cover everything you learned in Pre-school. It cost tons of money to make all the projects involved for this class. The final is a color wheel project that takes forever to finish. Overall this class sucked, DO NOT TAKE IT UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO! It is not worth the time, the money or the effort.
