its an interesting course, but she gets kind of difficult with the tests and things. tests about every 2 weeks and she gives unlimited extra credit. you get extra credit for any type of performance seen outside of class (points vary on type of event). 3 manadatory performances that you choose from a list. you can get by without a book or the CDs. just share with someone in the class

This class is horrible, but easy. You have to go to 3 concerts and write an essay about them. She is super picky about the essays, but gave our class an opportunity to revise them. Her tests have a listening section, but they aren't hard. You can go to extra concerts for extra credit. If you don't miss any classes, she gives you 40 bonus points. Fader is really annoying, and makes you do pointless activities. I wouldn't recommend her, but the class is pretty easy.

This course is not that difficult but the teacher is rediculous. The teacher does not explain ANYTHING and assumes you already know as much about music as she does. She skips around during teacher and its impossible to follow her. Her notes are not legible and if you were able to read them she wouldn't get out of the way long enough for you to see them. The class literally will give you a headache from trying to keep up with her horrible teaching. She is in to music but is bad at teaching it.

No one really wants to take Music Appreciation, but Mrs. Fader makes it bearable. She understands that no one really wants to be there and tries to make it relevant to you and tell you what you need to know. Its not a hard class at all. If you go, she tells you what will be on the test. She always curves the exam by like 5 points just because. She is a little particular about the essays you write for attending the concerts but you have the opportunity to redo them. If you go to any concert you can get extra credit for it. Of course its kinda boring, but thats the class not the teacher. Suck it up and take this class! It wont be bad at all. I promise.

I don't know why Ms. Fader has gotten such terrible reviews. I found her class to be the easiest I've had so far. You have to take notes and come to class if you want to pass. She's such a sweet lady and will work with you if you need extra help. Some of the tests were challenging but as long as you pay attention and study, you should be okay. I absolutely loved Ms. Fader and would take her again in a heartbeat.

She is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. She has no brains and lacks the ability to think. Everything she does contradicts everything she does. Her tests are worthless simply because she is a worthless teacher. If you can avoid her...avoid her!

This course wasn't really that hard but the fact that she kind of lacks a BRAIN lended towards my skipping of this class. The lady just can't really make up her mind on anything and she always thinks that she is so much better than everyone because she can toot her horn. False. Shes just not good at structuring tests and quizzes or teaching. If you can get someone else, do it.

This is by FAR the WORST general ed class I have taken since I have been at Western. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!! If you have to stay an extra semester to take this class to not have to take her then it is worth it!!! The tests are really hard. They are all fill in the blank with no word bank. You have to go to three different recitals and I have probably spent about 50$ for the dumbest performances that we were forced to go to. Then you have to write a reflection about them, and if they aren't to her standards then you will fail. ALL I CAN SAY IS DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of the people in the class are really mean to Fader, and I feel bad for her a lot. She is pretty scatterbrained and isn't the best at giving a lecture, but I believe that the students are just overly whiny and that if they just studied and prepared like Fader instructs us to, they'd do fine.
