This is by far the worst class I have ever taken in my college career. To start with class is totally boring and uninspiring. The material is presented in a very dry manner; it is pretty much read straight out of the text book. Many students complain about this and few show up to class daily because they feel that they get nothing what so ever from the lectures.
Secondly, the tests are very inconsistent with the material covered in class. Topics are usually tested that we never see in a homework assignment and only briefly discuss in class. We are tested on chapters which we finished MONTHS ago! We have even finished chapters that will not be on the tests before we take them. TOTAL DISORGANIZATION! Test problems are taken directly from the end of chapter problems. These problems can take upwards of an hour to finish each and we are given two to complete in an hour's time. The professor tried to do an example from the back of the chapter, had the solution right in front of him and still failed to finish in 45 minutes.
Communication is terrible! WKU students only have email or phone with which to contact the professor. Emails and calls are usually ignored altogether and if there is a response it is usually much delayed.
The current instructor is totally ignorant to the technology that he uses for the class. He only recently discovered how to erase what he writes on his slides. If there is ever a problem with the technology, all he can do is sit and wait till someone comes to fix it for him. However, he usually doesn’t even stop “teaching” and just continues on while the rest of us at WKU suffer for it.
Please find a different instructor for this class.
