This course was not hard due to content but there were a lot of large assignments due. Ms. Huss was pretty easy to work with and seems to be a nice person. It was all online so I never actually meet her in person but she was quick to respond to emails, etc. She is pretty organized and pretty clear about what she wants and the due dates for each assignment. We had to have 6 or 7 books for the class though, I thought that was a bit much (but they were paperback and all cost in total under 300). I really like teaching science so I thought it was kind of a neat class.

Dr. Huss is an average professor at best. But is very nice and easy going. She is unorganized to say the least. She understands this class is full of a bunch of Warm-Fuzzy material and tries to stay away from that. You have about a million projects to do throughout the semester with most of them due within a 2 week time period. The tests are super easy, one of them is take home. The final, all we had to do is come to class and get a 100. You have to do 15 observation hours for this class and make a journal about it, she grades it easily. This class is a joke, i guess you do learn some helpful things about the teaching profession but overall is pointless. I would take Dr. Huss for an easy A.

I didn't like Huss at all. She's very scatter brained, which I thought would make her easy but it didn't really. I hated going to class everyday. I never knew what was going on or when stuff was due. The papers she makes you write are vague and she's very vague in what she asks you to do - I'm a good writer but didn't make good grades on her papers. I've heard of much better teachers to take. Maybe it was just me but I wouldn't recommend her as a teacher, and I didn't really like her as a person.

This is the worst class I have ever taken and the worst teacher I've ever had. She is so disorganized and does not teach at all. All we did all semester was take a two tests, put together powerpoint presentations and presented them (which was all the class was after Spring Break), do two critical performances (Philosophy of Education and Learning Climate Observation), observed a teacher for 15 hours, made an observation journal, and she taught maybe three classes. She didn't even make the powerpoints she used (when she taught, which was hardly ever) or the tests herself. She used the publisher's powerpoints and tests. She wasn't even there to have class for a good two or three weeks total. The assignments were few, but were busy work. She doesn't give feedback in a timely manner, and when she does, it's not at all helpful. I spent days on my Observation Journal and I got no feedback on it at all, and it was 40-50 pages long and she didn't even really look at it. You have to decorate it and do a lot of unnecessary things for it to get a good grade. Her assignments were never well constructed or had clear guidelines, so I never knew what was expected of me in that class. She didn't explain assignments very well and it was almost as if you had to read her mind in order know what to do. She explained how do the Observation Journal and Learning Climate Observation paper after I had already completed all of my observing and couldn't go back to get things I didn't know I needed. I went to every class and still didn't know what was going on. I asked for clarification and she was usually really rude. The only thing I learned from this class is how to make up stuff for a grade. This class was a complete waste of time, energy, and effort. The only reason I put difficult down is because of the teacher. I find it ironic that a teacher who does not teach is teaching an Intro to Teacher's Education class.

This class was not taught very well by Dr. Huss. This may be partially due to the subject matter involved, or in could actually be the teacher herself. All we did this semester was take notes from powerpoints from our book, take two tests, present presentations to the class and then observe for 15 hours and make a journal. There was hardly ANY teaching going on, and it was a complete waste of time. I'm not sure any teachers that teach this subject are any better, but it's just something you have to go through if you want to be an education major.

Dr. Huss is the only teacher that teaches this cource on MW block. She seems nice but she has her favorites. If she doensn't agree with you than she doesn't like you. She gives several pointless assignments and takes off points for no reason. She doesn't grade fairly. Because she didn't like my lesson she seemed to start grading my assigments harder taking a lot of points off. I didn't like her as a teacher at all.

This class was really easy but she wasn't that great of a teacher. She was very disorganized. I was hoping to get lots of good ideas to use in my classroom, but really got nothing out of this class. If you're looking for an easy grade take this class, if you're wanting to learn something, maybe not.

Dr. Huss is a really sweet lady, and she is an okay professor. She will help you with whatever you need & she allows you to re-submit assignments. This class has a lot of extra fluff assignments that aren't necessary, but she does help to prepare you for the Praxis. She is a little disorganized, but if you can deal with it then I would definitely recommend her.

The only negative thing I have to say about Dr. Huss is that she is a little bit unorganized and it was very easy for the class to get her off topic. She lost a few of our grades and we had to resubmit them to her, but that wasn't too big of a deal. The class was relaxed and she did a lot to ensure all of her students entry into the program. I don't feel like I learned much in this class, though.

I would definitely recommend that you take Dr. Huss! We had one real test in the class (which she lets you use your notes and PowerPoints for a few minutes at the end of the test time) and didn't really have time for more, so our second test was take home. She is such a sweet person. She always extends deadlines for assignments and will take the time to help you if you need it. I wouldn't take any other teacher for this class!

Very simple class. She grades very easily and gives a lot of extra credit. Many open book/take home tests that are simple, and she lets you know the essay questions ahead of time. You have to do 15 observation hours and a big observation journal, but that's about it. I reccomend it.

She is a great teacher!! the tests come out of the book and not so much from the notes but if you read the tests are easy!! there are presentations you have to do but are easy and some are put together in class!! I took this as a summer term and it was easy. There are three critical performances and 15 observation hours. after that you put an observation notebook together. take notes while viewing and the notebook is easy. Overall I would recommend her. She works with you and is very understanding and is a fun teacher!!

Mrs. Huss is a great teacher! EDU 250 has been my favorite class! There is not alot of work at all. You have three test (2 which are take home) and a really easy presentation about an issue in education, and then the biggest chunk of the grade (100 pts.) is your observation binder. You are required 15 hours of field experience, and then you make a binder about it, I got a 100%. She will help you with anything, she is very nice and a understanding teacher. Take her if you can!!

As far as EDU 250 goes, Dr. Huss is a pretty easy teacher. Though she claims to on the syllabus, she doesn't REALLY seem to have any attendance or late assignment policies. Be prepared to find out about huge assignment one or two class periods before they're due. Several students in my class were given extensions into the summer on required projects and still given relatively good grades. Tests are pretty straight-forward and easy. Overall, it's just really boring and a lot of note-taking. Don't expect to learn much about the process of teaching - just the history of education.

This was a pretty easy class the only thing is that you don't have hardly anything due throughout the whole semester and then Professor Huss has everything due the last week of class when you have finals and studying to do.

In my opinion this is a fairly useless course, however it is a requirment for a major in education. Mrs. Huss is very flexible and understanding - she won't penalize you for late work and really tries hard to work with everyone in the class. She can be a little scatterbrained but it's not a big problem. This class has quite a bit of requirments that go along with it (observation, complicated journal, critical performances) but Mrs. Huss makes it as painless as possible. The constantly changing due dates and agenda are confusing but most of the time work in the student's best interest. Oh, and there is a required textbook but I never purchased it and still made an A in the class.
