There aren't a whole lot of different assignments for this course. There was the discussion boards, PowerPoint, midterm, and final. There was a total of eight discussion boards. Each post had to be on a different day and you had to post an initial post and then three additional response posts. This never took that much time to complete. The PowerPoint assignment was not bad. We got to choose our topic, which was nice. The only problem that I had was with the midterm and final. Both tests were essay format and open book. I just felt the length of time that it took me to complete the midterm and final was ridiculous. Maybe it didn't take others as long, but I have no clue. If I remember correctly, the midterm was 4 questions and it took me 4-5 hours. My grade was a B. The final was 7 essay questions. If you counted up all of the questions within each of those questions, there as a total of 27 questions that needed to be answered and cited etc. It took me over ten hours to complete the final. I did get an A but barely. Huge headache.

Dr. Ferguson is a great lady, fun to be around, but pretty quirky and very authoritative. The whole class is just discussion and review of the book with two tests that are open book and easy. There is only one GIGANTIC project which is the CPI for the electronic portfolio. It has several different parts and you have to stay on top of it and do it throughout the semester. Procrastination is not even an option with the project. It ends up usually being a couple hundred pages worth of stuff, so as long as you stay on top of it, you'll be fine, and also, Dr. F is one of those professors that you will definitely benefit from sucking up to.

The main part of this course is easy. She gives notes and pages for each chapter of important parts to study. Two tests, both open book. Just one HUGE project that takes time over the semester to do. Stay on top of it and you'll be fine. She's really sweet, sometimes crazy, but don't ever get on her bad side.

This was an online course that meets twice during the semester. Tests are online, timed, and you can use the textbook, so I didn't have any trouble finishing them. The final project takes a long time to complete, so start early and DON'T procrastinate...you CAN NOT do it the evening before it's due! Also, stay on her good side. If she likes you, she will go out of her way to help you. If not, you will have a difficult time taking her...and you will have to take her more than once because she is the only that teaches some of the EXED courses. She really is a nice person, but she doesn't like her authority challenged!

Dr. Ferguson is an alright teacher. She is just a horrible advisor. If you mess up with her once, you might as well count yourself out. She will not help you out and in fact will make it harder for you. But if you are a male, you can do no wrong.

She is a nice lady if your are a special education major. Shes quick about grading homework and tests, but all of the tests are essay/listing and the questions are worded different than they were on the review sheet. The class is taught at a middle school level, but her tests are much harder than what she discusses in class. If you have a great memory it's definately the class for you. You have a movie review and book review to do that are pretty easy. There is also a 50 point research paper you have to do also. GOOD LUCK!

Dr. Ferguson is a GREAT teacher. She tells you what you need for the quizzes and tests. She goes over everything in class and she loves to teach. She has enthusiasm and she loves all her students. If you have a certain number of points by the end of the semester you dont have to take the final. Also, she offers EASY extra credit opportunities...you can earn up to like at lest 25 bonus points. SHE is WONDERFUL!!!!

Dr. Ferguson was a very helpful professor, but as my advisor she sucks. If you don't want to do exactly what she says or you question what she says she will snap at you and tell you that you need to switch majors. This class was easy and she tells exactly what on the quizzes. The final is easy as pie. I would take her classes but don't have her as an advisor.

This class may seem overwhelming if you're not used to big assignments. It's not bad, though. Just make sure to do the curriculum project throughout the semester. If you procrastinate on this, you will be staying up until all hours every night. I'm not joking; I've been there. But finishing it will give you a great sense of accomplishment. Dr. Ferguson is a good instructor (and I believe she's the only one available for this course). However, don't worry. Her exams (even the final) are open-book, and she's willing to help with assignments if you need it.

This class is a lot of work. There is a midterm and a final--open book, you'll need to put post-its in your book before the test so you know where to look for answers. The biggest part of the class is not the tests, but a collection of work that transitions a student with disabilities from birth to death. You'll provide the curriculum for school, find the person a job, and even determine how the person dies in the end. A challenging, but helpful course.
