Hakman did a good job for his 1st time teaching this course. However, the powerpoint thing drives me nuts. You spend so much time writing the notes from the powerpoint that you don't actually get to hear him talk. (Although most of the time he was just reading from the slides).
My hands hurt so bad after every class, and the stuff from the powerpoints really didn't help me on the tests. Tests were multiple choice with some where you had to decode METARs.
Just do the definitions from each chapter (given it's the same book and he doesn't decide to change his teaching method).
Know METARs, TAFs, PIREPs, and all that fun stuff--you'll eventually know what I mean if you have him.
You do have a group presentation at the end of the semester. Hope you get into a group that actually gives a shhh...cause there were some that just got up in front of the class and decoded METARs for 15 minutes. No good.
