I had Ms. Nixon for an online Folk Studies class. After reading her previous evaluations I was really scared to take her. Luckily - she is NOT as bad as everyone is making her out to be! She was really friendly and gave us back our grades in a timely manner. We had to write a good amount of papers (I took her during a may term), but that was the only downside! There weren't any tests...just discussion boards, weekly critiques, and then a final paper. I got an A in that class...so I cannot complain about her!

The only explanation as to how this teacher is still teaching is the faults that are found in the Tenure system. She is quite possibly the worst excuse for a teacher that you could imagine. I took this course along with CIS 446, CIS 447, MGT 448, and SPAN 100. I ended up pending triple the amount of time on this single 100 level course that I did with all the other courses combined. I had to purchase 5 books for this class alone. I was stuck because this was my graduating semester and there was nothing else open to honor the credit I needed to graduate. She is a distance learning teacher from Ohio and all of here assignments are recycled from a 300 level class that she is teaching (She was so lazy as to remove the course number from the assignment that she recycled to my class). Her grading is like watching grass grow. There is no way to know how you are doing because she is consistantly 3 weeks behind on grading. I urge anyone thinking about taking this class to reconsider because even if you just don't want to go to class, you are going to have a much easier time taking it with any other teacher. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

nixon requires way way way too much work, much more than any class i actually go to. there are 2 assignments due every week...one is a discussion board that you have to post and respond to two other posts. and there is always a short paper due every sunday-most have to be atleast 2-3 pages...some have been longer, larger assignments...i hate it! don't take this class if you have other classes, a job, and a life.

This course is aweful. I had somebody tell me not to take her becasue she gave way too much work. I should have listened. The amount of work is unthinkable. The very first week of school I probably had 10 hours in it. The course requires way too much for a 100 level course. I spent more time on this class than my 400 level Engineering courses. The material is not difficult but you should not plan on having free time if you are taking this on-line. Also you have to buy 4 books for this class and she makes you read a bunch of very long articles. Do not take this teacher.
