Mrs. Renaud is an interesting lady. She is obsessed with Grey's Anatomy. You do three speeches in her class, one brief one about yourself, an informative, and a persuasive speech. the speeches are pretty easy, just make sure your outline follows APA format to the T. She's pretty lenient on the topic of your speeches, as long as you don't choose Zombies, she has something against Zombies for some reason. Work hard and study for tests and quizzes.

I absolutely loved Dr. Renaud. She was just precious. At the end of the class, we were all told to think back to the first speech we gave in there (out of 3) and look at how much we'd improved. I noticed that I had indeed improved a lot in my public speaking skills. The class isn't too hard at all. However, it's not the type of class where you can expect an easy A by doing nothing, but do have to work at it. However, if you do your work efficiently and on time, you'll be perfectly fine. I always looked forward to the class because she made it so fun and she would joke around with us and you can tell she really cares about her students.

Donna Renaud is extremely boring to have as a professor. She rambles on and on about communication and expects you to be just as excited about it as she is. The speeches are easy if you spend time preparing. The test are also simple if you read the materials assigned. DO NOT let my grade influence your decision to take her. I became ill towards the end of the semester and missed at least 2 weeks of school. If it wasn't for missing a lot of in class assignments that couldn't be made up, I would have had a much higher grade. Overall, she is an easy professor, just super boring and annoyingly excited about the subject.

DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!! Ignore the people saying she is easy. She makes easy concepts seem really hard. I really feel like I have gotten dumber after taking her. Her quizzes will kill your grade and the tests are ridiculous. She gave us study guides but it didn't matter what you studied, they are trick questions. She is rude and doesn't care about any of her students. My powerpoint messed up during one of my speeches and she still counted every point off instead of just a couple (since it wasn't my fault the computer messed up). We got to watch a movie because we were ahead of the other classes, all she did was talk over it and skip half the movie because it was too violent since it had the KKK in it. She treats her classes like they are middle schoolers. DO NOT TAKE HER

I was told by somebody to take Mrs. Renaud. I wish I hadn't. She is a very rude person. She seems nice at first and you think her class is going to be pretty easy until you have quizzes everyday. She makes you read like 2 chapters every day out of your text book, which is so pointless. Its over 20 pages of pointless crap that every one already knows. She seems like her class is the only one that is important when in fact people are only taking it because it is a gen ed requirement. I would nottt take her.

This class was incredibly easy. However, all the other comm classes are easy as well. You do not want to take Renaud. She doesn't know what she's talking about She's rude. She's annoying. I just definitely would not take her. Also, she offers barely any extra credit so its impossible to get the 720 points you need to get out of the final. Other professors make it a lot easier. Just don't take her.

She is a very sweet teacher. You do 3 speeches and one 3 page paper. There are pop quizzes but most of them are common sense. You are required to attend class unless it is excused but you just listen to a powerpoint. She provides a study guide for each exam and the powerpoints are available on blackboard. Overall, I would highly recommend her!

Mrs. Renaud was not the most intelligent woman in the world, but the class was really easy. A lot of the material is common sense, but reading the book is necessary for the quizzes and tests. She grades pretty easily on the speeches; just make sure you include everything in your speech (intro, transitions, closing, sources) and make sure it is all very structured so that she hears each and every part, even if it sounds slightly choppy and/or boring. She also graded the "research" papers fairly easily (the girl next to me TRIPLE spaced her paper and still got a 95). Overall, it's an easy class, although she can be very annoying at times.

I learned absolutely nothing from this teacher she is a complete ditz. A lot of the material was common sense, and the book made simple concepts overly complicated. There were only two tests. We had a study guide for the first one and it was useless. There were 4 speeches and one paper, all of which I did well on. DO NOT take Renaud, trust me you'll hate it I dreaded going to class. Plus you can only miss one class, unexcused, before it deducts from your grade. I've heard Comm 161 is way easier.

Since Speech is required, this is a good teacher to take it with. Speech sucks regardless but she's super easy. You have one free absence, and we have only taken one test so far. The final, as long as you get an A, you don't have to take. The speeches are okay, just do the outline and actually kinda try and you'll do fine. It's a good class!

Overall, this class was fun and interesting, if you like to talk in front of people. With the 2 tests that we took in this class, she really didn't go over the information that was going to be on the test, in class, you were just expected to read in your book. Although, the day before each exam, she did tell us what was going to be on it, so it wasn't that bad. She is down to earth and tries to keep up with the times and the cool thing going on. Good class all together.

If you're looking for a simple speech class, take Renaud. If you want to learn anything or become a better speaker, take someone else. She's pretty ditzy, the material is a complete waste of time, and she doesn't really know what she's talking about. But, she does grade very easily, and the tests/quizzes are a joke. Just follow the guidelines she gives you, skim over the chapters if you want to be extra prepared, and you'll be fine. That is, if you don't mind disliking your teacher.

If you're really interested in becoming a better public speaker, this is probably not the class for you. But if you're looking for an easy, laid back speech class, this one is it. The tests are very easy. If you read the chapters the night before and look over the things she tells you will be on the exams, you'll definitely get an A on every one. The speeches are also graded easily (just don't forget to cite your sources and stay in the time limit!). There are a couple of allowed unexcused absences before attendance will affect your grade. She also let our class out early on several occasions in case we wanted to do research for our speeches or homework.

Public speaking is an easy course in itself, but Renaud offers hardly any homework or studying. She gives pop quizzes, but if you look over the chapter you will be fine. Most of them are self-explainatory. She grades well on speeches and her exams are not difficult.

although this class was easy, it was a waste of time, after taking it i understand why so many students cut gen ed classes, i learned nothing, everything you go over is like an insult to intelligence. renaud is a bimbo, you have to keep tabs on your grades attenendance and content of the class for her because she has no idea whats going on. i dont know how this woman went through college and stayed so ignorant. she goes off on tangents, you will have no clue what your expectations are because she dosent know herself! this woman is a huge ditz!

Mrs. Renaud is a very sweet lady. She tries to make the class interesting, which it usually is, but sometimes can seem repetitive and tiring. The class involves a lot of group work, but it's easy and fun. You will have to go to the Girl's Club and do community service, but only for 3 hrs. total and she gives you 2 days out of class to do, it's easy! The class is easy and an easy credit for anyone who has to take it. However, be sure to study for her tests, although she seems cool, she really takes stuff from the book and it can be difficult if you don't study. But she does curve too!!

Mrs. Renaud, at the beginning of the semester, comes across as a teacher who is uninterested in teaching her class, a little ditzy, and easy on grading. Don't trust that it will stay that way throughout the semester. Toward the end of the class she got moody and screwed up most everyone in my class by harsh grading or her attendance policy, which she (conveniently) never explained. She may seem nice, but I felt like I was one of her favorite students and she still tried to screw over my grade. If you want a teacher who will be fair, take someone else.
