Mr. Almand is one of my favorite professors I've had thus far. I would recommend taking him above anyone else for this course or any other course he teaches. Very organized and a great teacher.

Mr. Almand is a great professor. I've had him for 4 classes now, and he is very organized and always gives you opportunities to do well. He never surprises you with anything and explains everything great. In these classes you actually go out in the fields and teach lessons, but it really opens your eyes as to whether teaching is for you or not.

almand is so enthusiastic about the material he makes it very easy to learn. he gets assignments and tests graded the same night, and is always available to help students. he allows retakes on exams if you have only missed a certain amount of class periods. very good teacher, very thorough and nice :)

Math is my weakest subject, so I really appreciate it when I have a teacher who really helps me understand it. Mr. Almand does a great job explaining things so that everyone grasps it. He is rather entertaining as well and comes up with great examples to relate to the work you're doing in class. He gives you a quiz every night, but the answer sheets for those quizzes are essential for doing well on the tests because he uses the same type of problems/scenarios from the quizzes.

When I first began this class I was like everyone else; it's elementary math so how hard can it be right? The class is hard, and it requires you to study and put forth a lot of effort. You aren't given a grade in this class. You earn what you get. I really like Mr. Almand's teaching style. He breaks everything down so you can understand it, and is very helpful. There are quizzes every night but he prepares you well for each one. I would highly recommend him for this course. If you want a teacher who really does know what he's doing and is easy to get along with I suggest taking Mr. Almand. Just be ready to study and don't expect something for nothing.

This class with Mr. Almand is difficult. I am certainly not the greatest of math students but I earned a "B" in this course. Mr. Almand is very demanding and the class does require some work but I know that everyone in my class felt like their math skills improved when the course was completed. I have Mr. Almand next semester for 212 and I am looking forward to another great class.

I am really great at math. I have taken College Algebra, College Trig, and College Calculas and made A's in all three. But by far this is the hardest math class I have taken. Your attendance is required because he gives quizzes EVERYDAY!! He grades hard because he expects you to know it. He is a very nice teacher and knows his stuff. BUT the material itself is hard. When first signing up for this class I thought,"this can't be hard, it is elementary math." But I was wrong. Our brains are not able to function like that anymore. We have been programmed to solve more difficult problems. In this class you don't. I just want you to be prepared for this class. It is a good class and you will learn a lot of stuff. All I am saying is STUDY!!!

Almand is a good math teacher. He knows what he is teaching and knows how to allow you to understand it. You do not get credit for homework assignments. We have weekly quizzes and they are the same types of problems that are on the homework assignments. The exams are problems very similar to the quizzes. There is no multiple choice. I strongly recommend Almand.

Mr. Almand reminds me of Forrest Gump! He talks slow but does math problems fast and doesn't offer much help. When he does the probs in class they seem so easy, but the homework and tests are not! He is pop-quiz happy and marks off for every little mistake. I didn't like this class at all, I struggled to make a C when I had straight A's in Math 100. Math isn't my best subject and I don't recommend this teacher if you're not a math whiz.
