I waited for three years to take linear algebra from anyone but Dr. Hamburger or Dr. Por. I was unsuccessful. I am graduating at the end of this semester and I can safely say that Dr. Por is by far the worst professor I have ever taken.

Linear algebra should not be a difficult course, and for computer science majors it should be relevant and interesting. Not with Dr. Por. His lectures have no structure, he consistently confuses his different classes to the point that you are tested on material you have never covered. He does not recognize his own contribution to poor class grades, so refuses to curve or allow for extra credit. You will not learn linear algebra in this course.

As a general rule, avoid Dr. Por at all costs. Furthermore, if you have a general interest in linear algebra, I believe taking this course would actually set you back in learning it.
