This class was a breeze for me, since I already speak Vietnamese, although not fluently. Co^ Kim (as we call her) used to be very strict, but has loosened up a lot in past years. In addition to grammar exercises, reading and listening, and most especially, writing are emphasized. Students also are required to give 2 oral presentations (in Vietnamese) per quarter.
Co^ Kim sometimes brings up some very interesting topics to discuss and quite often, the class will spend at least 10 minutes on that particular topic. I also think she is funny, in a way.
This class is the first class in the 2nd-year series.
