You have to write six journals in response to articles that are read and discussed in the previous week. Each one is worth twenty points. If you prove that you were paying attention in class and discuss points from the readings then you will receive all the points. You have an article to read before each class. Most are short and are interesting. There is a class discussion each meeting. There is a midterm paper to write that is 6-8 pages long. It is easier than it sounds. You critique an article. The final is 8-10 pages and is similar to the midterm. Attendance and class participation are key. If you do not talk in class then you will not receive participation points. Toward the end of the semester you do a group presentation on an article. Easy points. The class is very interesting and makes you think. - All the articles are on blackboard. You do not use your book a lot, but you will need it eventually.
