Horrible class!! This was an online course and the teacher gave us two chapters to read each week and then we were suppose to spew the contents in essay questions with a short time limit on the quiz, all from rote memorization, the worst possible way to learn and recall information.

The teacher (Joffey) expects you to be an art history scholar and a fine art connoisseur even though this is an introductory course. She also took about one month to grade each of our discussions (5), papers (2) and quizzes (5) after the assignments were completed, and never gave us feedback on what we did wrong and what we should have included in order for us to better understand the subject and receive a better grade for the next quiz or paper.

I feel that I've learned nothing from this course and it has seriously hampered my enjoyment of learning about fine art!

Again, this was an online course at Inver Hills Community College, Art History 1107-99 with Prof. Jennifer Joffey. Don't take it unless you are well versed in fine arts and art history, and have a profound interest in the subject.
