When Gary Stearns is in front of his class, he never stops talking -- but it's always interesting. End result, there's a ton of notes, but you won't regret taking his class.
Even though he lets you use your notes for the tests, I don't recommend it. you'll spend all your time flipping pages and never finding answers. Know your stuff and you'll do better. At least, I did. Also, write at least half a page for the essay questions.
Stearns was by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. If you do well, he tends to like you better, but all you have to do is try, and you'll get that result. i would way recommend taking any of his classes.

Mr. Stearns is the FIRST interesting History teacher I have had in my educational career. I enjoyed going to his class. His lectures were interesting, but there was quite a bit of notes. The good news is that you were allowed to use some notes on your tests. If you took good notes and copied them onto your sheet, then you were in good shape. I truly enjoyed this class, and I encourage everyone to take him.
