Additional Comments |
I loved this class. But then, I love to write. Course, who would be taking it if they don't, right? This class was not especially hard, it just had a lot of writing. Go figure.
Not much of what we wrote during the semester was actually graded, but we did have to turn in a portfolio at the end of the semester that was the bulk of our grade. You were supposed to demonstrate in your stories that you had made some sort of advancement in your writing since you started the class. That you actually learned something. We also had a couple workshops that he really really wanted most everyone to participate in at least once.
Mick is nuts. I can gaurantee he will talk about movies. We watched I think 3 in our class. Which is fine by me. He also takes a somewhat personal interest in his students; he really wants to make sure you're doing well. Which is awesome. He tends to avoid discussing controversial topics, but if you want to write about it and CAN, then he says gung ho. Unfortunately, since he was writing his thesis the same semester as our class, we definitely didn't get the attention we needed. But that's ok. Mick's still an awesome teacher. Oh, and he's always at least ten minutes late to class.
