Sylvya can be intimidating if you hear rumors from people in other parts of the department, but honestly she has been my favorite sign language teacher. She provides a challenge but is also willing to help you as much as you ask for it. She'll repeat things and go back through things if you're confused-- you just have to let her know. She tries to go pretty fast because there's a lot to get through for this course, but she is always willing to slow down. She's definitely quality over quantity. I would recommend her to anyone at any level. She's great!
