Face it, you have to take this class, so you might as well take it with a good teacher. Dr. Hovet is awesome. I did not like the class at first, and it is a lot of work. However, by the end of it, I realized that everything he does works and you get a lot out of it. Be prepared to write a lot of papers, including a term paper. It's not as bad as it sounds and turned out to one of my favorite classes that semester.
