Additional Comments
I thought the course was interesting and Zimmer did a good job, although there were a few concepts along the way that were hard for me to grasp. Zimmer is fairly dry most of the time, but will surprise you with a funny comment sometimes. He is very accessible outside class and was always willing to talk to me when I went to his office.

There were three tests. The final was not comprehensive. The tests were primarily working problems with very few questions related to theory, which surprised me. Zimmer was somewhat lenient grading the exams. If your answer was a little off but you showed you knew how to work the problem, he usually gave full credit. If you really screwed up the math, he counted off once but then gave credit for the rest of the problem if you worked it the right way.

The test problems were similar to homework problems which were similar to problems in the text. Only a few homework assignments were given throughout the semester. I sometimes had difficulty with the problems even though I thought I understood them when he worked examples during class. I recommend you pay close attention when he works problems. I also recommend working some of the problems in the book for extra practice.

Overall, it was a good class and Zimmer was a good teacher.
