Additional Comments |
Dr. Young is an amazing teacher. The class consists mostly of playing games and basic scenework with a partner. You read An Actor Prepares and take quizzes over it, which aren't hard as long as you actually read. The final consists of a scene...this was my only beef with the class. He picks your partner and gives you a choice between a few cuttings that he tailors to you and your partner based on your personalities and what he feels you can do. I got screwed over with both of the big scenes I had to do because I got less than desirable partners; however, it's also a compliment to you if he does this as he only partners these people up with someone whose talent, time management, etc, will take up the slack. Dr. Young is a VERY kind professor and is great to talk to outside of class. He's very encouraging and uplifting which is something lacking in the theatre department in general.
