There are 'listenings' that you do in class but that's really all class is good for. You could basically not come to class, do the study guide and possibly pass. The professor is very kind but she lets class out ALWAYS 30 minutes early (and I'm usually all for that) but you don't learn enough in class to do well on the exams.
