Additional Comments |
Business and professional speaking is a relatively easy class. It has the possibility to be a very interesting and enjoyable class, but Ms. Allison murders this idea. She teaches from PowerPoints she has created straight from the book; often quoting the book without reading it. She is extremely boring and dull. You have to give an informative speech and a persuasive speech about anything business related; which is basically anything you want to talk about. One of the most heavily weighted grades is the group presentation, which is a joke. If you are nervous about speaking in front of people, she doesn’t do anything to help you with this. You give a speech, she grades you on it and that’s it. I’ve heard my ten year old sister give a better speech that some of the people in this class who she says are great public speakers. Basically, she’s an uninspiring, old professor set in her ways. If you go to class everyday and never miss then you should be fine, but don’t expect to be motivated in any way.
