Additional Comments |
Not an easy teacher by any means. Every day is a new adventure for the most part; some days she's really cool, and others not so entertaining. Class time is typically spent working on projects. Make sure you know the Elements and Principles of Art though. Also, she doesn't require scissors, but I would highly advise having those. The required Exacto knife is okay for some things, but scissors are more useful a lot of times.
The class requires mounting all finished projects, so make sure to keep some matte board on hand. The class critiques every project to some degree. WHEN she gives advice, get it in writing or at least make a note of it, because she has the tendency to change her mind.
The class is about mastering design, not progress. It is NOT an effort based grade. It's very easy to put a lot of effort into a project, but if the overall design is poor, it does not matter. DO NOT mistake effort with good design.
