Additional Comments
I loved this class. Diane was so much fun to learn from. Aside from not liking black-&-white projects (I'm a color-person), my class was from 6-8:30 p.m. on M/W. I was not looking forward to this class. Diane made it FABULOUS (a term she uses).
Diane really makes this class. Most of the people in my 2-D class have taken her for at least one other course. She's funny, quirky, and really has a passion for teaching. She's sassy, and can dish it as well as take it...to a point (as is the norm with all teachers)
Now, onto the class aspect. The majority of the class was focused on black-and-white design and learning the very basics of design. Pretty boring, but the projects were interesting. Take for instance, this one: make 30 random symbols...non-objective, all abstract. (I ended up with a bunch of Rorshach ink-blot tests pretty much, but others went above and beyond...I'm not very imaginative that way). Sounds dull, but we built upon that and had to organize them in ways...it turned out pretty well.
If you want to take a class just to get it over with, don't take this class. Diane gets you involved, indepth, and interested in what you're learning...hey! I'm actally learning how to design boring things and ENJOY IT!!
I give this class and A+.
