from taking this course, I can say that, if all other courses taken during summer are this fast paced with a lot of work assignment due just about every day, I will never take summer classes again. this course was pretty fast paced, having to read one chapter a day along with 2-4 assignment. this was difficult class, I also had to work full time.

Sarah is very helpful when you are having problems with the work that is due. Sarah Rainey also provides extra credit, which is very helpful if your failing.

Professor Rainey is one of the best professors I have had. She is very understanding and communicates well!! Her course is not difficult if you do the work she assigns. She allows you to text her and is very good about extra credit. If I could have her as a professor for all my classes I would!

This course was a good. I did not like the fact the homework was due on a Saturday it would have been great if it was like most of my classes they were due on Sunday before midnight.

The course used Connect through McGraw Hill which cost about $60 for the class. Connect had many issues, all of which were solved, that were stressful at times, and in several instances students had to redo assignments.

She was a great instructor and I have enjoyed this course. I was grateful she offered extra credit because that helped me get through the course. I do not do very well on exams most of the time but hers were pretty accurate to what we were learning and followed with the lesson. She answered all my questions in a timely manner. Over all rating this course and instructor were GREAT!

Prof. Rainey is an excellent teacher. She encourages all of us to actively participate not only in the class discussions but also in reading the book. I have truly enjoyed reading the book and doing the class projects. I encourage every student to take thorough notes of the readings and also class discussions. Prof. Rainey allows you to use your notes on the tests, which makes them much easier. She gives you plenty of chances to make a good grade and makes learning fun and exciting.

Yes, there are A LOT of notes in this class. But if you do your chapter assignments, the notes really aren't that bad. I just add the notes in between my chapter notes. For days I missed, the notes were always available on Blackboard and she let me copy them down so I could use them on tests. If you're writing it down word for word, its a ton. But if you're writing down concepts, you can always do them later.
The annoying part is the course pass because they have to be done at the beginning of class to get credit. I missed a couple because I got behind. She let me make up the journals at the end of the semester so i could get the next letter grade up but the course passes are killer. You can't forget to do them ever because she won't let you make those points up.
The book is really dense. Spiker tries to simplify them but sometimes I just didn't get what I'm reading or listening to in a lecture. She's a nice lady , she just talks too fast.

The great thing about this course is that the daily work is fairly easy. The class goes by fast as well. The professor was there when ever i needed her and was consistently reminding us about our homework that was due.

This is an online class so there was no face to face interaction with the instructor. However, this instructor did an excellent job of encouraging and helping through email and text. I hope I have the opportunity to take another class given by Sarah Rainey-Spiker.

I took the class online and the Connect/Blackboard system sometimes messed my grade up because it didn't transfer, so I had to contact Prof Rainey. She's really responsive and worked with me. Its an online course, so its pretty much self-taught but she's there if you need her. The online activities are sometimes busy work but for the most part they are simple. She sets dates to help you manage your time but lets you do the online work at any point as long as you finish any late work by the time of each exam. There's extra credit if you need it, although I'd like to see more extra credit options.

Miss Rainey is very qualified to teach Texas Government. She is well-versed and very knowledgable on the subject. Her lectures are not interactive with the class. I like how she does not concentrate on dates, but I was disappointed on the lack of causal relationships between the Texas Government and the federal. Also, I don't feel like elections were concentrated upon enough. But, overall, the class was very informative. The subject matter on the essays was passing strange. I feel like the class started to take off and become much more interesting with the class debates she utilized at the last part of class and like the fact that she is willing to experiment to get the class motivated to participate.

I enjoyed the class because of Mrs.Rainey. She is smart and creative in her style of teaching. She made learning exciting, challenging, with possible goals to reach. She is fair and honest and has a way of making us all want to participate in class. To my knowledge no one felt left out or embarrassed, but most of all her teaching made you want to learn it.

Mrs. Rainey is a superb teacher. She is very well informed, clearly loves what she does, and goes the extra mile to help her students understand the material. She offers extra credit and there is absolutely no reason anyone should not do well in her class. If you apply yourself and take advantage of the extra credit you are sure to do well. I personally am extremely pleased that I got her for Texas Government.
