Additional Comments
Students and musicians wishing to perform in a professional environment should avoid this course. Orchestral leadership often mismanages rehearsal time leading to wasted time, frustration and poor performances. While musical knowledge is somewhat admirable, director fails to inspire growth through fear and intimidation and almost always fails to take full responsibility when mishaps are clearly made from the podium. Lectures on professionalism to maintain a high standard in the program are often preached/yelled but seldom practiced by the orator. Students interested in performing in an orchestra with cohesion and high "humane and musical" values should seek to enroll in the other orchestra available to music majors.
