This class would have been a lot easier if Dr. Jukes did not rush through everything as fast as she could. She would always have so much to say that we often would end up staying after class ended while she jumped from one subject to another. She is very critical of your lesson plans which make no sense because she doesn't really explain how to write one. She is a very sweet woman, and I know a lot of people love her class, but I absolutely cannot stand it. She goes over powerpoints every class word for word and makes things so complicated. The only thing I liked about her class was her exams are so easy.

I absolutely loved Dr. Jukes! I was really worried going into the class because I had heard a lot of mixed reviews. But one major detail I did hear about was how she really prepared you for Block I, a lot more than the other professors teaching this course. So obviously I wanted to be as prepared as I could be for Block I, and I really feel that I am now. She was so nice, gave very helpful feedback. If you didn't understand something, she would try to make it understandable. I had never went into a KTIP lesson plan format in as much depth before, and I really appreciated her attention to details like that. She made this semester very enjoyable. Take her if you can, she really prepares you for the Block classes! :)

Dr. Jukes is a wonderful teacher! She is very kind hearted and goes above and beyond for the success of her students. If you have the opportunity to take Dr. Jukes, I would! There is a lot of work in this class but if you stay on top of your assignments you will do great. All of the exams given were take home which made them a lot easier!! She has a wonderful personality and cares so much about each and every student!!

Boring. Lectures are powerpoints read word for word. She canceled class the last two weeks of school. We never got papers back or justification for our grades. She did not send out the proper emails to cancel class either. Many of us showed up to find she was not there or in her office. Not cool when you have questions and want to verify your grade. Take someone else if at all possible. You will be so glad you did. She makes you despise elementary education.

Dr. Jukes is so absent minded. She frequently loses assignments and she does not remember what she tells students from one time to the next. She makes the appearance of being helpful, but if you really need her or if you disagree with her she is unresponsive or critical to the point of being unfair. She cancelled class the last two weeks of the semester, but didn't properly announce her intentions so a lot of us showed up for classes and she was not there. To cancel class at the end of the semester, when work is piling up and questions need to be asked was not ok.

Dr. Jukes is nice however her own scatter brain will effect you and your grade. I would not take her if possible. This should be a time consuming, yet easy course, however she makes it so difficult. All that I learned from her is how I do not want to be when I am a teacher. She made my perspective change completely on my major. Whats worse, is that I am now entering Block I and can not even make a good lesson plan. She is awful.

I enjoyed this class, however it snowed quite a bit when I was student teaching and we didn't meet as many times as we were supposed to. In some cases the weather was bad where students lived and not in Bowling Green and Dr. Jukes was understanding about us not being able to get there. The only thing we really did in here was our Teacher Work Sample. Dr. Jukes made it really simple. She only wanted it to be about 30 pages, total...it had to fit in a binder clip, not a notebook. She didn't want us to get stressed out about it and fill it up with unnecessary stuff. She made this class painless.

Dr. Jukes knows what she's talking about. You learn alot in this class and it can be really overwhelming because you're just learning how to do everything, and she makes it as easy as she can. I took her again for student teaching seminar because she's so likeable.

This course would've been a breeze if it weren't for the the scatter-brained teacher, Dr. Jukes. She was nice, but as far as telling you when assignments were due, she was bad at remembering that kind of stuff. She never explained stuff well, and when she went over material she would jump from one thing to another so fast that she was very hard to follow. I don't think I learned one thing from her the entire semester, and now I'm going into Block 1 with no idea how to produce a good lesson plan.

I rated this class as moderate because of the amount of work that you have to do. I barely made an A, but I spent hours and hours every week working on things for this class. I dreaded going to it. At least Jukes returns your work back to you and lets you redo it for almost the same amount of points. That's the only good thing.

Dr. Jukes is a nice and easy going person in class, but when you meet with her, she will be very critical of your work. I met with her to discuss a lesson, and you would of thought I had puked all over her. She does seem scattered because she is so busy. She is a nice person, but isn't always as nice as she seems. If you can take someone different, I would. If not, you can still do fine in her class, but be sure to talk to her before turning in any lesson plans if you want a good grade.

I really enjoyed this class. At first I thought it was really corny because of the activities she makes you do, but they were actually helpful on the tests. She does require attendance, but you can miss up to 6 classes. Her tests aren't difficult at all. there are a few papers and observation hours, but that is required by all edu 250 classes. i learned a lot about teaching from this course. i would take her again if she teaches the courses i need!

Professor Jukes is extremely scatterbrained, and overwhelmed most of the time. She has way to much on her plate and it is evident to all of her students. I would choose another teacher if possible, but if you have to take her don't panic.

Dr. Jukes is perhaps one of the Top 3 professors I have had! Her class is the only one of the week I enjoy going to, and the class is really fun! She is flexible, and easy to get along with. She certainly cares about the students and wants everyone to succeed. Yes, she comes from an elementary background, but she is far from patronizing. She recongnizes we are adults, but doesnt put a heavy burden of responsibility on us. There are alot of notes, but its all on PowerPoint and there are also several fun group activities! I HIGHLY recommend!!!!!

Dr. Jukes is a great teacher! She offers lots of extra credit and is very flexible about papers and due dates. You don't really need the book except for a few assignments, so I would suggest sharing with someone. You do have to observe in a school for 15 hours but my experience was very helpful in my career decision! If you have to take this class, try to get this teacher!

I loved Mrs. Jukes. She was a super sweet teacher and really gets into what she is talking about. She was always helpful and since she comes from an elementary background you do easy work. She never gives homework outside of reading the chapters which she will give quizes on, but they arent hard. And as long as you print off the powerpoints, you'll never take notes. I didnt really learn a whole lot, but I still enjoyed her as a teacher.

I loved Dr. Jukes and actually signed up to take another class with her next semester! She is extremely nice and seems very understanding. I will admit that this class seemed pretty pointless and a lot of times I really felt like not going, but overall it wasn't too bad. Jukes is kinda stuck in "elementary mode" but I think that's what made the class so easy. You are expected to read the Western paper and have pop quizzes on it, but mainly she tells you the answer in the way she asks the question. You are also to attend a lot of different events and do community service, which is time consuming, but when reflecting only upon Dr. Jukes, she's not so bad and neither is the class! Take it!

Dr. Jukes is a really effective teacher. She will work with you to figure out things that you might not understand, and if you don't get it right the first time, she'll return your work for redo so that you can get full credit. She really cares that students in the program succeed, and she knows all the right strategies to accomplish this. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to pass the Praxis, or who really wants to become an effective teacher.

The class wouldn't be so bad if she didn't come from an elementary background. The first test was awlful. The class average was a D. The second test was a little better. The bad thing with her is that she doesn't really teach you anything. She puts all of her notes on powerpoint and reads then directly from that. So you would think that her tests were easy. Her tests don't cover half of the stuff that she talked about. So they are really hard. To teach some of the lessons she puts the class into groups and has you draw things. It was really stupid, I didn't learn a thing from it. She grades fairly easy when it comes to the critical performances, which weren't bad at all. The class is okay, but she isn't very productive. If you could take somebody else I recommend to do so.

Dr. Jukes is a kind and very helpful teacher. If you are caring to be a great teacher with lots of worthwhile tools to use, take Dr. Jukes. She is a previous EL ED teacher and can give you all the first hand information you will need.
Great teacher!!
